Best if you want to: Enhance your complexion and add a touch of illumination to your face with light-reflective, iridescent pearls of color. The pearls are housed in a clear plastic container with a bronze colored lid. Like the météorites, there is a sponge applicator sitting right on top of the colored pearls. I don't see the sponge to be of any use at all in applications. It feels kind of cheap and the beads actually left some indentations in the sponge.
Best for: all skin tones
What it is designed to do:
The pearls themselves are much smaller than Guerlain's perles. They also remind me less of pearls and more like beads of color. There are three colors in all: pink, rose, and gold. Every color has the same level of sheen and shimmer to it.
The application is average. It is easy to get color on the makeup brush, but this is not something that should be applied with a heavy hand or very liberally. Too much leaves an undercoat of frostiness on the skin that makes it look obviously unnatural. In artificial lighting, the skin looked kind of chalky.
The sparkle is evenly distributed and very fine on the skin. The lasting power is fairly long.
At the end of the day, while cute, these pearls are nothing compared to Météorites. However, if someone wanted an affordable dupe of Guerlain's perles, these little pearls might work in a pinch.
