Tarina Tarantino: Sparklicity Gold Shimmer Dust Review

I discovered Tarina Tarantino's atomizers of shimmer dust while wandering around Sephora. The concept of this atomizer is simple. It ties the elegance of old school perfume bottles with the novel concept of dispersing loose shimmer dust for the body or hair.

What it is: A pure-refraction glitter for body and hair.
What it does: Pouf this product's atomizer for a shimmery spray of fine dry powder. It adds a pretty golden sparkle to bare shoulders, legs, hair, and the decollete. A luxurious finishing touch, this product is made from an Italian formula called reflex, which delivers pure glitter, without base or binder.

They come in 3 different shades: white, gold, bronze.

The gold Sparklicity bottle is small and slender with gold tones and a golden puff atomizer. There are two plastic caps that seal off the top. One covers the entire head and another one plugs up the nozzle.

The gold dust itself can be subtle or noticeable depending on how much you apply. Other than spraying it directly onto the intended area, you can spray some with the cap intact and apply shimmer dust that gathered at the opening of the bottle with a makeup brush. It is really nice that the shimmer dust is just loose shimmer. There is no scent. No binders. No other additives.

Before buying this, I read reviews about the Sparklicity atomizers being dupes to certain Guerlain LE météorites. While Sparklicity dust does provide shimmer, it doesn't provide the subtle glow and soft touch up look that you can get from Guerlain météorites. It also doesn't last very long compared to météorites.

Light application of shimmer dust.
The other problem I have with the Sparklicity Shimmer Dust is that the bottle is sealed shut. There is no way to unscrew it. I had originally thought I would be able to use the loose Sparklicity powder in the little pots to refill the bottle, but there is no way to open it.
